What are the main requirments:
Welding is easy with good preparation.
An automatic welding helmet is an amazing and cheap investment. Also, mind the Minimum welding current, when using a TIG machine; otherwise, most welders never use a current smaller than 40A.
Clamps and metal cutting/grinding discs are the main helper in welding jobs. A nicely grinded and clean piece of metal will guarantee a quality stitch, whilst the clamps will lower the constructions deformation as well as hold the objects geometry together. Also remember about welding magnets, as they are a useful tool, when you are working alone.
A small bit about the possible functions of inverter welders.
- Hot Start raises the current of the first electrode-metal surface contact. This function helps in avoiding the electrode sticking and creates a more solid stitch. Some machines have the posibility of lowering this functions effectivness to 0%(this might be useful when working with tin)
- Anti Sticking - lowers the chance of the electrode being stuck during the welding process
