ESAB OK Ni-Cl - Nickel electrodes (Ni 92%) designed for repair welding of cast iron. The coating contains graphite, resulting in a small amount of slag during welding. ESAB OK Ni-Cl electrodes are intended for welding cast iron with minimal preheating. The welded metal can be mechanically processed and has improved resistance to crack formation. The ESAB OK 92.18 electrode has good technological properties, allowing welding with lower currents and resulting in a narrow heat affected zone. Small diameter electrodes can be welded without preheating or with minimal (up to 150 °C) preheating. For welding thick-walled products, preheating up to 150–300 °C is recommended. To avoid cracks during cooling, light peening of the cooling weld bead is recommended.
