Secure attachment to metal surfaces
The magnetic base holds the drill press against a steel workpiece with a force of up to 11500 N. This helps keep the tool in position for precise drilling control.
A safety strap must be used when working vertically or overhead. For maximum magnetic holding force, a clean, flat steel surface at least 10 mm thick is recommended.
Adjustable speed for different tasks
The 100–650 rpm speed range lets you adapt the drill press to different annular cutter and drill bit diameters. Lower speeds are used for harder materials, larger-diameter drill bits/annular cutters and tapping, while higher speeds suit softer materials and smaller-diameter drill bits/annular cutters.
The reverse function expands the tool's range of applications. Overload protection helps safeguard the motor if the operator applies excessive feed force or the drill bit jams in the workpiece.
Where is the „Avellor MGG-1600E“ drill press used?
Steel structure fabrication
The magnetic drill press is suitable for drilling holes in beams, profiles, plates and other structural steel components. Its portable design allows convenient attachment to the workpiece, eliminating the need to transport large components to a stationary drill press.
Installation and repair work
The MGG-1600E can be used where the size or position of a workpiece makes a handheld drill impractical. The magnetic base reduces the need for the operator to hold the tool continuously and helps maintain the drilling direction more accurately.
Metalworking workshops
The model is designed for everyday metal drilling, tapping and countersinking tasks. With a suitable holder and an accessory designed for the specific operation, it can be used with twist drill bits, taps and countersinking bits.
Safe use of the magnetic drill press
Before starting work, clean the steel surface and check the magnet's grip. Always use a suitable cutting or cooling fluid when drilling. Do not use water alone, as it can cause spindle corrosion and damage the machine's electrical components.
