Yato non-contact AC voltage detector with laser pointer, 12–1000 V

YATO YT-28319 is a non-contact AC voltage detector designed to detect voltage near insulated electrical wires. Operating on the principle of electromagnetic induction, it lets you check for AC voltage near a wire without removing its insulation. A flashing LED indicator and intermittent audible signal alert you to detected voltage.

The detector has two sensitivity modes, a built-in white LED light and a laser pointer. Its compact 165 mm length makes it convenient for electrical installation inspection and maintenance. It is well suited to electricians, maintenance personnel and electrical checks around the home.

Two sensitivity modes

In low-sensitivity mode, voltage can be detected at a distance of up to approximately 3 cm from an insulated wire. In high-sensitivity mode, the detection distance can reach up to 15 cm. The actual distance depends on the voltage, the position of the wire and nearby objects that may distort the electromagnetic field.

Non-contact wire checking

YATO YT-28319 detects the electromagnetic field of AC voltage near an insulated wire. It can also help locate a break in a live wire: the signal may disappear at the break. Results depend on testing conditions, so this detector alone cannot confirm that a circuit is free of voltage.
