The principle of action of a hole punch is simple: a metal sheet, which has a pre-punched hole, is compressed between the punch and the die with the help of a central bolt. The bolt is tightened by hand (using a simple wrench) or pulled in with hydraulic tools. The punching itself is done as follows: the punch pierces the metal, forming a hole with smooth edges in the sheet metal.
